By recognizing that the Golden Rule is fundamental to all world religions, the Charter for Compassion can inspire people to think differently about religion. This Charter is being created in a collaborative project by people from all over the world. It will be completed in 2009. Use this site to offer language you'd like to see included. Or inspire others by sharing your own story of compassion.

Hi Michael -- I wish I'd found your site earlier. I just heard Karen Armstrong on the radio tonight or I never would have known about the Charter. As it is, I can't find a single event in Portland celebrating the charter, and I thought we were pretty progressive! Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for being the one person who posted about this, and I wish you'd gotten some responses! I would've if I'd seen it when you wrote it!
